Jarod's journey into canine training began with a deep-rooted passion for dogs from a young age. Growing up in an environment surrounded by dogs, he developed an intrinsic understanding of their behavior and training needs. This early interest and innate understanding propelled him into a career focused on canine development and training, where he has achieved numerous prestigious credentials.
His career is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field of canine training. At NWBB, Jarod oversees the training of service dogs for Veterans with PTSD. His responsibilities encompass developing comprehensive training programs, managing operations, and ensuring that both dogs and Veterans receive the highest standards of care and training. Jarod's work is crucial in helping Veterans regain their independence and improve their quality of life through the support of a service dog.
In 2018, Jarod founded Next Generation K9 2, his flagship enterprise, where he serves as the owner and master trainer. The business specializes in advanced training programs, including a full spectrum of service, detection, and protection dogs. Under his leadership, Next Generation K9 has established itself as a leader in the field, known for its innovative and effective training techniques.
Additionally, Jarod is the co-owner of Man's Best Friend 3, a renowned dog training and boarding facility. In this role, he has been instrumental in expanding the services and enhancing the reputation of the facility across the Pacific Northwest. His contributions have helped Man's Best Friend become a trusted name in canine training, known for its exceptional training programs and commitment to excellence.
Jarod’s role at NWBB exemplifies his commitment to serving Veterans. By leveraging his extensive training expertise and military experience, he ensures that Veterans receive the highest quality service dogs, thereby enhancing their independence and quality of life.
Jarod served with distinction as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from September 2014 to September 2018. He was the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the 4th squad of S6 with the 5th Marines, a critical leadership role within the communications and information systems division. During his service, Jarod was stationed at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan, and was deployed to South Korea and the Philippines. His exemplary performance earned him the Navy Achievement Medal for creating and implementing the network infrastructure of a major training exercise involving five different Marine Corps units and over 2,100 participants.
