In Memory of Raul Moreno

On January 11, 2024, Raul Moreno and his service dog, Blue, were tragically killed while crossing a road in Michigan. In honor of Raul and Blue's memory, please donate to Northwest Battle Buddies. Your support will enable them to continue assisting veterans like Raul by providing professionally trained service dogs. These dogs offer our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines the strength, confidence, and companionship that Blue provided Raul.

Raul served in the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2011 and experienced significant combat with the Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 10th Mountain Division from Ft. Drum, NY. Later, he reclassified as an IT Specialist and returned to the Middle East. After leaving the Army, he went back to Afghanistan as a civilian contractor, providing direct IT support to units within the combat AOR. Afghanistan was where he found comfort. Raul never fully adjusted, suffering tremendously from PTSD and many common problems that affect our soldiers who struggle to adapt. However, thanks to Blue, Raul regained a sense of freedom and independence, allowing him to venture out in public once again.
